When I paint, it's like my spirit becomes one with the canvas. There are no boundaries or limits to what can be expressed when you're in a state of flow during art-making process; all thoughts disappear and only pure feeling remains--a sense that anything could happen because life itself is an adventure!

Jane Spooner

Hello there! I'm Jane Spooner, an artist from the beautiful Gloucestershire, UK. Before diving into the art world full-time, I spent over 20 years as a graphic designer in the print and design industry. Art has always been a huge part of my life, serving as my go-to form of self-care and healing. Whenever I’m feeling down, painting helps me embrace those emotions and find calm.

Growing up in the 80s as the youngest in a large family, we didn’t have much money, but we had an endless supply of paper, pens, pencils, and imagination. My dad worked for a stationery company, and I would eagerly wait for him to come home with brown paper-wrapped parcels full of stationery. This childhood experience turned me into the stationery and art supplies addict I am today!

Nature deeply inspires my work and is at the heart of everything I create. While I mostly paint with encaustic media, using natural materials like beeswax, tree resin, and color pigments, I don't want to limit myself to just this medium. The unpredictable nature of encaustic fascinates me—each painting develops its unique beauty and character, much like the people who create them.

My dad nurtured my creative talent, though I’m not sure if it was intentional encouragement or just a budget-friendly way to keep us entertained. Sadly, I can’t ask him now, but I like to think he saw the artist in me from the start.

Explore my gallery to see how I connect with nature through my art. Each piece offers a sense of tranquility and peace, and I hope you feel the same connection when you view them.

I would love to work with you.
